The Links at SafeHavenThe Links is the finest in Grand Cayman golf courses. The Cayman Islands are renowned for their excellent scuba diving and Grand Cayman has more than 145 dive sites. Dive sites include coral reefs, shipwrecks, and walls. A unique site located off shore from the Wyndham Grand Bay- Waterford is Sting Ray City, a natural feeding ground where divers and snorkelers can swim among the sting rays. ExcursionsHellAn area of unusual black, jagged limestone rock formations resembling charred remains near West Bay. Cayman Islands Turtle FarmTurtle breeding farm in West Bay and home to over 14,000-16,000 turtles that range from newborn hatchlings to 600 pound adults. Queen Elizabeth II Botanic ParkA 65 acre park featuring native trees, shrubs and wild orchids. It is also home to breeding areas of the endangered Grand Cayman Blue Iguana and other wildlife, birds and butterflies. Pedro St. James CastleThis stone great-house is the oldest structure on Grand Cayman built in 1780. It is called the “Birthplace of democracy in the Cayman Islands.” Features period furniture, pottery, photographs and other artifacts of 18th century Cayman domestic life. Bodden Townthe first Cayman capital, there are many historic sites in Bodden Town – the Guard House, a monument to Queen Victoria, and Gun Square with two 18th century canons. East of Bodden Town, Meagre Bay Pond is a good place for bird watching. Mastic TrailA woodland trail through the Mastic Reserve of untouched old-growth forest and native Cayman plants and animals. The Mastic Trail is two miles long and the guided walk takes approximately two and a half to three hours. |
