Onsite Activities

Casa de Campo’s exclusive Minitas Beach is great for water sports and sun fun. The beach hut, La Palapa, offers organized and supervised activities for children from toddlers to adults, as well as for families. Group activities include arts and crafts, tennis and horseback riding lessons, dance lessons, mini-Olympics or ping pong. No-one is left out – there is story time for toddlers and evening activities for teens, such as movie nights.

The Dominican Republic’s natural surroundings provide an adventurer’s playground where hiking up peaks, white-water rafting, diving, snorkeling, sailing and fishing tours are easily arranged by your Concierge.

Island Hopping

Ocean, river and sunset cruises on the archipelagos of the Dominican Republic. Sail to the nearby Catalina Island and enjoy its white beaches and blue waters. The Sunset Sea Cruise, a private charter, is a two-hour catamaran ride to experience the spectacular Caribbean sunsets. The Chavón River Cruise aboard the charming old world “River Princess” or “Empress Lily” paddleboats is an evening tour along the winding Chavón River. Check with your Concierge for availability.

One Fish, Two Fish

Grab a friend for a half or full day of deep-sea fishing. Land wahoo, dolphin, tuna, kingfish, sailfish, marlin and barracuda, which are all plentiful in local waters. Fresh water fishing, a trip that winds through lush tropical vegetation, tall cliffs and palm trees down the Chavón River is also available. Though fresh water may seem like less of a challenge, weekend warriors should take heart; near world-record snook have been caught in the Chavón. The three-hour excursion includes the river guide, tackle, bait and sodas.

For local sightseeing, the La Romana excursion is an intimate way to experience the Dominican Republic. Take a ride to Casa de Campo's closest neighboring city and enjoy duty free zones, sugar mills, popular markets and local culture.

The Discover Old Santo Domingo highlights the lifestyle and early history of the island that was made the New World's first capital city by Christopher Columbus. Many historical highlights are part of the tour including the Americas’ first Catholic Cathedral, El Alcazar Museum and the Columbus lighthouse. The group is accompanied by a bilingual docent and a buffet lunch at one of Santa Domingo’s finest restaurants is included.

The Santo Domingo Casino Tour leaves in V.I.P. style from Casa de Campo and brings you to a dinner at the elegant Hispaniola Hotel. Available Monday to Saturday, the high-rollers excursion includes dinner, admission to the casino and disco as well as beverages on the bus, dinner and the tour guide.
